Your account

Delete your account

How to close your BillVyse account and remove its data, what goes, what we are required to keep, and how to ask if you can no longer sign in. Applies to BillVyse (the shop app) and to the BillVyse customer storefront.

The quickest way — inside the app

If you can still sign in, you do not need us at all. Open the app and go to:

Settings → Account & security → Delete my dukaan

You will be asked for your password (or to confirm with Google) and to type your shop's name. That is on purpose — an account holds the khata your whole street owes against, and it should not be possible to end it with one stray tap.

Nothing is deleted on the day you ask

Your account is marked and everything keeps working for seven days. During that week a warning appears at the top of every screen with a button to call it off, and we send an email as well — so if somebody who is not you marked the account, you can still stop it.

After that date the deletion runs and cannot be undone. Take a copy of your books first, from Backup & restore inside the app; afterwards there is nothing left to export.

What is deleted

  • Your login, and every staff login under your shop
  • Your products, stock, batches, rate history and price labels
  • Every bill, quotation, purchase order, return and debit note
  • The khata — every customer, every udhaar balance and every payment against it
  • Suppliers, expenses, day book, online orders, appointments, jobs and memberships
  • Photos you uploaded, including scanned supplier bills
  • Your public storefront link and its whole catalogue
  • Your notification and push-message registrations

What we keep, and why

Only two things, and neither of them identifies you once your account is gone:

  • The record of subscription payments you made to us. That is our own business and tax record and we are required to keep it. It holds an amount, a date and a payment reference — no name, phone, email or address.
  • Our administrative log of actions taken on the account, kept with every readable field removed — names, labels and IP addresses are erased, leaving only that something happened and when. Without it, an account could erase the record of what was done to it.

One thing that is deliberately not touched: if a wholesaler has their own supplier-portal login, it is their account and not your shop's data. Other shops depend on it, and closing your dukaan does not close it.

If you cannot sign in

A lost phone, an email address you no longer remember, an app already uninstalled — use the form below. It does not delete anything by itself: we will write back to confirm you are the account holder, because an email address typed into an open form is not proof of holding the account behind it. Once we have confirmed, the account and its data are deleted within 30 days.

This sends a request to our support team. Nothing is deleted until we have confirmed who you are.

Customers of a shop

If you are a customer who ordered from a shop through BillVyse, the khata and order records about you belong to that shop — they collected them and they control them. Ask the shop directly to correct or remove them. If the shop cannot be reached, write to us and we will help.
